A NEW NADIR is a project by Walker Boyd, started February 20th, 2009. It is a blog by most conventional definitions of the term, but seeks to differentiate itself through a self-motivated critical agency and attention to detail–two things that most blogs lack. Originality is a worn trope and hardly worth pursuing today, however it is A NEW NADIR’s reason for existence. Honest criticism, thoughtful appreciation, and accurate characterization are the prized values of A NEW NADIR, and through A NEW NADIR’s pursuit for them, a higher and more insightful method of criticism will emerge.
Walker Boyd graduated with a degrees in Philosophy and Chinese from Vassar College, in Poughkeepsie, New York. He hails from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
This page will serve to further clarify the original mission of A NEW NADIR in the months ahead. It will also be a concrete expression of the values which A NEW NADIR operates by, and though firm, are nevertheless subject to adjustment.
Revision dated 29 June 2009:
A NEW NADIR will cease to publish overly-long accounts of trite prevarications in the fields of politics and philosophy. From now on, A NEW NADIR will be occupied with musical, scientific, and philosophical curiosities. No further comment is required. Adjust your feed reader accordingly.
